"ATU's flight training, pilot schools, and flight instruction will be designed in such a way as to underscore the importance of affordable flight training, commercial pilot training, and aviation career development. Special emphasis is to be placed on providing the student with as many options as possible to assist them in financing their education and flight training."
The Director's Aviation Background
Dr. Bell is a professional educator and commercial pilot with over 39 years of aviation experience. He has logged over 16,000 hours of flight time. During his flight career Dr. Bell has trained thousands of pilots in both General and Professional aviation. He has served an an Airline Captain, a Director of Training for a commuter airline, a Chief Pilot and Check Airman for two freight and cargo companies, and has conducted air taxi and charter operations in both the U.S. and Canada. He also has extensive experience as a corporate pilot.
Dr. Bell served as an Assistant Professor of Aviation at the Center for Aerospace Sciences where he taught courses in Airline Operations and Management and Human Factors. Dr. Bell has conducted aviation training programs in college, FBO, and private settings. In addition to his flight work Dr. Bell holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia and has over 12 years of college teaching experience. Dr. Bell consults nationally with flight instructors, fixed-based operators, and small flight schools seeking to expand their business and training effectiveness.
