ATU Guarantees You Affordable Flight Training!

ATU's PROFESSIONAL CAREER PACKAGES

ATU offers a number of income-earning opportunities to those of you doing your commercial flight training in Kansas City.   Professional pilot schools, pilot training and flight instruction can be rather expensive.   Because of this fact we've designed your aviation career package so that  half your flight training costs can qualify as a tax-deductible expense.  By actively promoting our education and outreach services you can also earn significant income while doing your flight training!  You can now easily afford your flight training expenses and at the same time minimize your personal debt.  You'll want to check out the advantages of this option in our classes/fees discussion.

OUR "BASIC" AVIATION CAREER PACKAGE

This 250-hour package is made up of NINE flight ratings:

  • Private Pilot
  •  Instrument Pilot
  • Commercial Pilot
  •  Certified Flight Instructor
  •  Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument
  •  Advanced Ground Instructor
  •  Instrument Ground Instructor
  •  Multi-Engine Pilot
  • Multi-Engine Flight Instructor

OUR “ADVANCED” AVIATION CAREER PACKAGE

This 1500-hour package adds the ATP Certificate to your flight educational program at no additional cost!

CLASSROOM, AIRCRAFT, &  FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR COSTS

Your Classroom Expense

Your initial education costs involve your classroom and test expenses.  The “basic” classroom and testing package is $5,995* and the “advanced” package is available to you at no additional cost.   You can also do your class work in either a traditional or an accelerated manner.

*REFUND POLICY:  It is understood that these amounts represent only the education and testing portion of a student's training program.  Refunds for FULL tuition are prorated over the first 30 calendar days following programcommencement.  A program that is discontinued within the first 15 calendar days will be refunded at 50% of paid tuition; a program discontinued within 16-30 calendar days will be refunded at 25% of paid tuition; and programs discontinued after 30 calendar days are not subject to refund!  Should a student desire to terminate their program after the 30-calendar day non-refund period, the school will permit that student to resume their program within 60 days at no additional cost.

Your Aircraft & Flight Instructor Expenses

ATU's basic aviation career package involves 250 flight hours.  Not all of these hours require the services of a flight instructor.  If the instructor is not present with you in the airplane you have no flight instructor expense.   Your aircraft rental, however, is a student expense and is based on the hours that you fly.  The rating, program, or aircraft you choose will determine your overall costs.  Our training aircraft range from $85 to well over $100 per hour.  Flight instruction rates average $35 per hour.  These prices are considerably lower than you would find outside the Kansas City area.

Although your choice of training aircraft can alter your costs, ATU offers the "basic" aviation career package for $35,995.00.  This is half the cost of flight schools that offer only six flight ratings.  Included in your package price are:  aircraft rental, classroom and testing expenses, books & supplies, instructor fees, and  all checkrides.

If you simply focus on $35,995.00 you'll miss the many advantages to be found at ATU.  Only ATU allows you to lengthen or shorten your program at will.   You are eligible to work as one of our Independent Contractors and actually pay for your pilot training as you go along.  There's no need to take out that high-interest aviation loan.  You can even earn income and write off more than half of your flight training expenses as you train.  This option isn't available elsewhere!

Our out-of-state students now have two options to lower their flight training costs To provide you with flight instruction at the most reasonable rates we offer you two ways to complete your aircraft training:  (1) You can choose to do the flight training portion of your program in Kansas City (where aircraft and instructor costs are below the national average), or (2) you can return home and we'll help you negotiate aircraft and instruction costs with a local flight instructor.  The latter option enables you to save up to 40% on a professional pilot package by eliminating the expenses involved in attending a distant flight school.
